Welcome to Richmond Community High School. To create a better understanding between teacher, student and guardians, I would like to make you aware of certain things.
As a teacher, I am committed to helping each student be successful in my class by:
*Planning and presenting instruction which challenges and provides opportunities for success.
*Giving individual help as class time permits and on assigned after school times.
*Evaluating progress and reporting this progress to the student and parents at regular intervals.
*Maintaining communication with the students and parents.
For the student, I require the following:
*Students should bring appropriate materials to class daily. These materials include quadrille composition notebook, pencil, textbook, loose-leaf (white computer paper), and a graphing calculator.
*All assignments that are to be collected by the teacher should be done on loose-leaf notebook paper (white computer paper) only. Spiral notebook paper or legal padpaper will not be accepted.
*If absent on a test date, a doctors note must be presented and a makeup test will be arranged. If the absense is not excused by a doctor, no make up can be taken.
*For identification purposes all papers turned in to the teacher must have in the upper right-hand corner the following information:
First and last name
Course and period
Date
*All work must be legible and organized.
*Students who are absent are responsible for getting missed assignments from their peers or from the teacher upon their return to school.
*All assignments are due on the date specified. No extensions will be granted except for extended illness.
*Work cannot be made up for unexcused absences. A grade of zero will be recorded unless you speak to me individually.
*Students shall show respect and display proper manners to teachers, staff members, and fellow students at all times.
*Food, beverages, chewing gum, headgear including hats, and sunglasses are not permitted in the classroom.
*Pop quizzes may be given at any time.
*Cheating is a serious offense. A grade of zero will be given if a student copies the work of another talks during a quiz or test.
*Students must be on time to class.
This school year can be a positive learning experience for everyone. Please let me know if you have any questions concerning these policies or curriculum. Please feel free to call the school to set up a conference at any time MVallejos@richmond.k12.va.us
